# Newsletter, posts & subscribers

> Use Pocketsflow’s built-in newsletter tools to publish posts, grow your audience, and email your subscribers.

Pocketsflow includes lightweight email tools so you can **publish posts**,
**collect subscribers**, and **send updates** without leaving the platform. Used
alongside your [Link in bio](/selling/creator-page) and products, they turn
one-time visitors into an audience you can bring back again and again.

The newsletter features live in three areas of the app:

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="Posts" icon="pen-to-square">
    Write and publish updates, announcements, and long-form emails.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Subscribers" icon="users">
    Manage who is on your email list and their subscription status.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Email settings" icon="gear">
    Configure your sender identity and default sending behavior.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## How subscribers are created

Your subscriber list can grow from several sources:

* **Checkout opt-ins** — buyers who agree to receive updates when they purchase.
  A completed sale can automatically add the buyer to your audience (tagged as a
  customer), which also powers purchase-based automations.
* **Link in bio forms** — visitors who subscribe from your
  [Link in bio](/selling/creator-page) (popup or embedded form).
* **Manual additions or imports** — contacts you add directly, only where they've
  given permission.

All of these end up in the **Subscribers** section, where each contact shows:

* Email address.
* Basic metadata such as when and how they joined.
* Their current **status** — active vs. unsubscribed.

<Note>
  Subscribers who opted out are never silently re-subscribed by a later purchase or
  import. Opt-out is respected across every source.
</Note>

### Legal and consent basics

When managing your list:

* Only email people who have **explicitly opted in**.
* Honor unsubscribe requests immediately — Pocketsflow handles the technical
  unsubscribe, but your practices should respect it too.
* Be mindful of local regulations (for example, **GDPR** and **CAN-SPAM**) in what
  you send and how often.

## Working with Posts

The **Posts** section is where you draft and publish newsletter content.

Typical uses:

* Announcing a new product, subscription, or launch.
* Sharing educational content to stay top-of-mind.
* Updating existing customers about improvements and changes.

A basic posting flow:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a new post">
    Go to **Posts** in the sidebar and create a new post.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write it">
    Add a **title** (this becomes the subject line — make it earn the open) and the
    **body**, short or long-form.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose delivery">
    Decide whether to **send it as an email** to subscribers or save it as a
    **draft** for later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish or schedule">
    Publish now or schedule, depending on the options in your account.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Best practices:

* Lead with a **strong subject line** and opening sentence.
* Focus each post on **one primary topic or call-to-action**.
* Include clear links to a product, your [Link in bio](/selling/creator-page), or
  another key resource.

<Tip>
  Segment by intent when you can: a launch email to your whole list, but a "your
  subscription renews soon" or "here's what's new for members" note to the relevant
  group. Relevance keeps complaint rates low and deliverability high.
</Tip>

## Managing subscribers

In **Subscribers** you can typically:

* Browse your active subscribers.
* See when and how each joined.
* Filter by status (active vs. unsubscribed).

Common tasks:

* **Add a subscriber** manually when someone gives explicit permission.
* **Remove or suppress** a subscriber on request, outside the normal unsubscribe
  flow.
* Export or analyze your list with other tools, if supported.

When in doubt, keep your list **clean and permission-based** — quality beats raw
count every time.

## Configuring email settings

The **Email settings** section controls how your emails appear:

* **From name** — the name recipients see in their inbox.
* **From / reply-to address** — where replies go.
* **Footer information** — legal text or business details at the bottom of emails.
* **Default sending behavior** — for example, whether new posts email all
  subscribers by default.

If Pocketsflow asks you to verify an email address or sending domain, complete the
steps shown before sending to a large list — verified sending domains dramatically
improve deliverability. See [Custom domains](/selling/custom-domains) for the DNS
side of sending-domain setup (SPF/DKIM).

## Connecting newsletter to your Link in bio

Your [Link in bio](/selling/creator-page) and newsletter reinforce each other:

* Place a **newsletter signup** on your Link in bio so people can subscribe without
  buying.
* Mention your Link in bio in emails as the "home base" where subscribers find your
  latest offers.
* Turn key posts or free resources into products featured on your page.

The loop: traffic hits your Link in bio → visitors **buy** or **subscribe** → your
newsletter brings them back for the next launch.

## Sending responsibly and avoiding spam issues

To keep deliverability healthy:

* Start with **warm audiences** — people who already know you or just purchased.
* Avoid frequent, low-value sends.
* Use clear subjects; avoid misleading or spammy language.
* Make the **unsubscribe** link easy to find.

If you see a high bounce or complaint rate, pause and reconsider your list sources
and content before sending again.

## Troubleshooting

If subscribers report "I'm not getting your emails":

* Ask them to check **spam/junk** and mark your message "Not spam."
* Suggest adding your **from address** to their contacts.
* In **Subscribers**, confirm their status is still **active**.
* In **Email settings**, confirm your sender details are valid and verified.

If problems persist, contact Pocketsflow support through the app or the
