# Tracked links

> Short links for every post, bio and ad, each showing the visits and sales it brought in.

Give every place you post its own short link — your Instagram bio, a YouTube
description, a TikTok, a newsletter, an ad — and see which one actually
sells. Each link shows its clicks, unique visitors, sales, revenue and
conversion rate.

<Note>
  Tracked links are part of the **Starter** plan and above.
</Note>

## Create a link

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Tracked links">
    In the dashboard sidebar, under **Grow**, open **Tracked links** and click
    **New link**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose where it opens">
    Your store, one of your products, or any other page of your store
    (including a domain you connected).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name the short link">
    Type the part after `/go/` — for example `ig-bio`. The field checks right
    away whether the name is free. Your link is
    `https://<your-store>.pocketsflow.com/go/ig-bio` (or on your own domain if
    you connected one).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the channel">
    Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Email, Ads or Other. It groups
    your links in the **By channel** table and fills in the UTM parameters
    for you (`utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ig-bio`).
    You can change them under **UTM parameters**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Post it">
    Copy the link from the list, or download its QR code (a print-size PNG)
    for flyers, packaging and slides.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What counts

* **Clicks** are visits through the link. Bots, link-preview fetchers (the
  card an app shows when you paste a link), browser prefetches and the same
  person clicking again within 30 minutes are not counted.
* **Unique visitors** are distinct people over the date range.
* **Sales** are orders placed within **30 days** of clicking the link,
  credited to the **last** link the buyer clicked. Free claims count too;
  refunded orders and test-mode orders don't.
* **Revenue** is those orders' total in your account currency, read like
  the Revenue on your dashboard.
* **Conversion** is sales per unique visitor.

Visitors are never identified: we store a one-way hash of the device, not
the IP address.

## Safe by design

A tracked link only ever opens a page of **your own store**. Links to other
websites are refused when you save, and each click checks the destination
again — if you disconnect a domain, its links fall back to your store's home
page. A mistyped short link still lands on your store, never on an error
page.

## Editing, archiving and your plan

* You can change a link's destination, label, channel and UTM parameters at
  any time. The short link itself never changes once it exists, so links you
  already posted keep working.
* **Archive** hides a link from the list. It keeps redirecting and counting.
* If your plan drops below Starter, **every link keeps working** and every
  visit and sale is still recorded. You can still copy, archive and restore
  links; creating or editing them, and seeing the numbers, waits until you
  upgrade — then the full history is there.

## API and AI agents

Tracked links are in the public API (`/tracked-links`) and in the MCP server
(`list_tracked_links`, `create_tracked_link`, `get_tracked_link_stats`,
`update_tracked_link`). See [Tracked links API](/api-reference/tracked-links).
