# MRR reports

> Monthly recurring revenue, where it grew and where it leaked: new, expansion, contraction and churned MRR, churn rates, ARPU, LTV and trial conversions. Pro plan and above.

**MRR reports** (Pro plan and above) turn your subscription payments into the
numbers a subscription business runs on. Open **Dashboard → MRR**. Pick a date
range, optionally one subscription offer, and every figure is compared with
the previous period of the same length.

## How MRR is counted

Each paid subscription payment covers one billing period from the day it is
paid — a week, a month or a year — plus a short grace for a late renewal (3
days weekly, 7 monthly, 14 yearly) while the card is retried.

* While covered, the subscriber counts at the **monthly value** of that
payment, **excluding tax**: a yearly $120 counts as $10, a weekly $5 as
  $21.73 (× 52 ÷ 12).
* A refunded payment covers nothing.
* When a period ends with no renewal, the subscriber has churned.

Because the report is built from what subscribers actually paid, discounts
and price changes show up as they happened.

## Definitions

| Metric | Definition |
| - | - |
| **MRR** | The sum of every covered subscriber's monthly value at the end of the range. |
| **ARR** | MRR × 12. |
| **New MRR** | Monthly value of subscribers who started paying, including ones who come back after churning. |
| **Expansion MRR** | Increase from subscribers whose new payment is higher than the last. |
| **Contraction MRR** | Decrease from subscribers whose new payment is lower than the last. |
| **Churned MRR** | Monthly value of subscribers whose period ended without a renewal. |
| **Net MRR movement** | New + expansion − contraction − churned. It always equals MRR at the end minus MRR at the start. |
| **Subscribers** | Subscribers covered by a paid period at the end of the range. |
| **Logo churn rate** | Churned subscribers ÷ subscribers at the start of the range. |
| **Revenue churn rate** | (Churned + contraction MRR) ÷ MRR at the start of the range. |
| **ARPU** | MRR ÷ subscribers. |
| **LTV** | ARPU ÷ monthly logo churn (logo churn rescaled to 30 days). Shown once someone has churned. |
| **Trial conversion** | Of the trials that ended in the range, the share whose first payment arrived (within 3 days of the trial's end). Shown when an offer has a free trial. |

## History that doesn't move

Every night we save each day's MRR (for your whole account and for every
offer). A saved day is never rewritten, so last month's numbers stay the same
even if a payment is refunded later or an offer is deleted. Today's figures
are live. Days are UTC.
