# Buyer refunds

> How refunds work for purchases and subscriptions made through Pocketsflow, how to request one, and how disputes are handled.

Sometimes a purchase doesn't work out as expected. This guide explains how
refunds generally work when you buy from a creator using Pocketsflow, and how to
request one.

## Who you're buying from

When you purchase, you're buying **directly from the creator**.

* Pocketsflow powers the checkout, delivery, and payment processing.
* The **creator sets the refund terms** for their products, as long as those
  terms comply with the platform's [policies](/resources/legal).

Because terms vary by creator, always check the specific product's policy first.

## Step 1 — Check the refund policy

Before requesting a refund, review **both**:

* The **product page** for any refund window or guarantee (for example, a
  "14-day money-back guarantee").
* The platform-wide **Refund Policy**: `https://www.pocketsflow.com/refund-policy`

Together these describe what you can expect. Note that digital products,
downloads already accessed, and used memberships may have limited eligibility —
this is normal for digital goods.

## Step 2 — Contact the creator

Refunds are issued by the creator, so reach out to them directly:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the creator's contact">
    Reply to your confirmation email, or use the support/contact link on the
    product page or the creator's site.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Include the key details">
    Provide your **name**, the **email** you used at checkout, any **order or
    receipt ID**, and a **brief, clear reason** for the request.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Respond to follow-ups">
    The creator may ask questions to understand your situation and find the best
    resolution.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What happens if a refund is approved

* The payment is reversed according to the creator's agreement with Pocketsflow
  and the payment providers.
* It can take **several business days** for the refund to appear on your
  statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.
* If a full refund isn't possible, the creator may offer a **partial refund** or
  another resolution (for example, store credit or a different product).

For subscriptions, cancelling stops **future** charges but does not by itself
refund past periods — request a refund of a specific charge separately if the
creator's terms allow it. See
[Managing subscriptions](/buyers/managing-subscriptions).

## Refunds on subscriptions

* **Cancel** in the [billing portal](/buyers/managing-subscriptions) to prevent
  the next renewal. You keep access until the current period ends.
* To request a refund of the **most recent charge**, contact the creator and
  reference the invoice from your invoice history.
* A refunded subscription payment shows a **refunded** marker on the related
  order.

## Disputes and chargebacks

If you can't resolve an issue directly with the creator:

* You may be able to raise a **dispute (chargeback)** with your bank or card
  issuer.
* Pocketsflow's **Disputes Policy** explains how these are handled:
  `https://www.pocketsflow.com/disputes-policy`

<Warning>
  Try to resolve things with the creator first. Chargebacks can take much longer
  than a direct refund, and opening one may affect your ability to buy from that
  creator again while it's investigated.
</Warning>

## If you suspect fraud

If a charge is genuinely fraudulent or the seller appears to be acting in bad
faith, you can also:

* [Report the seller](/resources/report-a-seller).
* [Contact Pocketsflow support](/buyers/contact-support).
