# Buyer payment methods

> Which payment methods you can use at a Pocketsflow checkout, how they are kept secure, and what to do when a payment fails.

When you buy from a creator on Pocketsflow, you can pay with familiar, secure
methods. The exact options you see depend on the creator's setup, your country
and currency, and the device and browser you're using.

## What you can pay with

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Cards" icon="credit-card">
    Visa, Mastercard, and other major debit/credit cards.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Apple Pay / Google Pay" icon="wallet">
    Shown automatically on supported devices and browsers — pay with a saved
    card and a fingerprint, Face ID, or PIN.
  </Card>

  <Card title="PayPal" icon="paypal">
    Pay with your PayPal balance or a linked method, where the creator has
    enabled it.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Crypto or card" icon="coins">
    Some checkouts let you pay with crypto (on Solana) or a card as an
    alternative to the standard card fields.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

You'll always see at least one card option where cards are available, plus any
additional methods the creator supports. Wallet buttons (Apple Pay / Google Pay)
only appear when your device and browser support them and you have a card saved.

## Currency

Prices are shown in the currency the creator has configured. Your bank or card
issuer handles any conversion to your home currency, and may add its own
conversion fee — so the amount on your statement can differ slightly from the
checkout total. See [I was charged more than expected](/buyers/common-issues#i-was-charged-more-than-expected).

## Security

Your payment details are handled securely by Pocketsflow's payment partners:

* Sensitive card data is entered into the payment processor's own encrypted
  fields and sent directly to them over an encrypted connection.
* **Creators never see your full card number.**
* Card payments are protected by standard bank security such as 3‑D Secure
  (Verified by Visa, Mastercard Identity Check). If prompted, complete the
  verification step from your bank to approve the payment.

If you have concerns about a specific charge, you can contact both the creator
and Pocketsflow support — see [Contact support](/buyers/contact-support).

## If a method you want isn't available

* Check that your **country and currency** are supported for that method.
* Try another method shown at checkout (for example, **card** instead of
  PayPal, or the standard card fields instead of the wallet button).
* On mobile, wallet buttons require the wallet to be set up with a card first.
* Ask the creator whether they can enable an alternative.

## When a payment fails or is declined

Common causes and quick fixes:

| Cause                                  | What to try                                                       |
| -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Incorrect card details | Re-check the number, expiry, CVC, and billing postal code. |
| Insufficient funds or a spending limit | Use another card or method, or contact your bank. |
| Bank blocked the charge | Approve the 3‑D Secure prompt, or call your bank to allow it. |
| Wallet mismatch | Ensure the card in Apple Pay / Google Pay is valid and supported. |
| Network or timeout                     | Wait a moment and try again — don't double-submit.                |

If a charge appears "pending" after a failed attempt, it's usually a temporary
authorization hold that your bank releases automatically within a few days.

## Recurring payments (subscriptions)

If you bought a subscription, the payment method you used becomes the **default
for renewals**. You can change it anytime, and update an expired card, from the
billing portal — see [Managing subscriptions](/buyers/managing-subscriptions).
If a renewal is declined, update your card promptly to avoid losing access.
