# Invoices & receipts

> Find, download, and correct invoices and receipts for one-time purchases and subscriptions made through Pocketsflow.

Invoices and receipts help you keep records for personal, business, or tax
purposes. This guide explains every place to find them for purchases made
through Pocketsflow, and how to fix a mistake in your billing details.

## Receipt vs. invoice

* A **receipt** confirms a payment happened — the amount, currency, product, and
  date. Your confirmation email is a receipt.
* An **invoice** is a more formal document, often needed for expenses or
  accounting, and can include your name/company, billing address, and tax
  details.

For most personal purchases the emailed receipt is all you need. For business
purchases, use the downloadable invoice described below.

## After a one-time purchase

Immediately after a successful payment you receive a **confirmation email** that
includes the amount paid, currency, product name, and an order reference. Keep
this email — it's your primary record.

### Downloading an invoice

You have two routes:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="From your confirmation email" icon="envelope">
    Look for a **View invoice** or **Download receipt** link, or instructions
    from the creator.
  </Card>

  <Card title="From your Pocketsflow account" icon="user">
    Sign in, open **Purchases**, find the order, and click **Invoice** to open
    its invoice page, where you can view or download it.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Tip>
  Creating a free account with the **same email you paid with** links your
  purchases to your account, so the **Invoice** action is always one click away
  later.
</Tip>

## Subscriptions

For subscriptions you get a receipt for **each billing period** — the **initial**
payment when you signed up and every **renewal** afterwards. Each renewal also
arrives as its own receipt email at the time it's charged.

Your full payment history lives in your native **subscriber portal**, where every
charge is listed in date order with its amount, date, and receipt:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your subscriber portal">
    Use **Manage subscription** from your **Purchases** page or a link in your
    subscription emails.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the charge in your payment history">
    The portal lists every payment on the subscription — initial and renewals —
    newest first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="View or download its receipt">
    Open any charge to view or download its receipt for your records.
  </Step>
</Steps>

See [Managing subscriptions](/buyers/managing-subscriptions) for everything else
the portal can do, and [Orders & customers](/operations/orders-and-customers)
if you're the creator looking at the same payments from the dashboard.

## Correcting or updating billing details

If your name, company, address, or tax ID (VAT number) is wrong:

* **For subscriptions:** open your subscriber portal, choose **Manage / Update
  payment method** to reach the secure payment page, and update the billing details
  attached to your card there. Future invoices reflect the change. For anything
  the page doesn't let you edit, contact the creator.
* **For one-time purchases:** reply to your confirmation email with the
  corrected information and ask the creator to re-issue the invoice.

<Note>
  Some details are fixed for compliance once a transaction is processed, so a
  correction may appear on future documents rather than retroactively editing a
  past one. Ask the creator what's possible.
</Note>

## Tax on your invoice

Depending on your location and the creator's setup, your invoice may include
tax such as VAT or sales tax. If you're a business with a valid tax ID, add it
via **Manage / Update payment method** (for subscriptions) or ask the creator to
include it, so it appears on your invoices.
